You Will Need:
Fevicryl Acrylic Colours Burnt Sienna 01, Black 02, Chrome Yellow03, Crimson 04, Maroon 14, Orange 17, Prussian Blue 19, White 27, Flesh Tint 30, Fevicryl Mouldit, Fevicryl Fabric Glue, Fine Art Brushes, Mirror 10” Diameter, Clay Carving Tools, Paper Cutter, Pencil, Assorted Mirrors, Colour Palette, Water Container
Description :
Make this beautiful mirror décor for Durga Puja. Durga Puja is also referred as Durgotsava or Sharodotsav which is celebrated annually amongst all Hindus through out India.
STEP 1 : Source the base material
- Take a plain mirror with a border.
- We are going to paint Maa Durga on it using Fevicryl Acrylic Colours.
STEP 2 : Paint the design
- Paint in the center a base circle measuring 6” diameter with Acrylic Colour White 27 by adding little amount of Talcum powder in it. Let it dry.
- Draw and paint goddess Durga inspired from the famous artist Sudhiranjan Mukherjee on it.
- Paint Maa Durga with Fevicryl Acrylic Colours Burnt Sienna 01, Black 02, Chrome Yellow03, Crimson 04, Maroon 14, Orange 17, Prussian Blue 19, White 27 and Flesh Tint 30.
- Let it dry.
STEP 3 : Prepare the dough
- Paint the border as well as the inner side border of the mirror measuring 1 ½” broad with Acrylic Colour White 27. Let it dry.
- Take Fevicryl Mouldit resin base and hardener, mix well to make even dough.
- Take the dough, roll it to make thin coils.
- Make a floral border design by sticking the coils with Fabric Glue.
- Let it dry.
STEP 4 : Paint the details
- Paint the border with the coil design using Acrylic Colours Maroon 14, Black 02, Orange 17 and White 27 as shown in the picture.
- Let it dry.
STEP 5 : Finishing touches
- Enhance the mirror by sticking assorted mirrors aesthetically around the goddess using Fabric Glue.
- Let it dry.
STEP 6 : Final look
Your mirror is ready for Durga puja festival this Navratri!
