Description :
Create a stunning, reusable rangoli with a traditional Bandhani print on fabric. This project uses the vibrant colours of Fevicryl Acrylics and a simple dotting technique to mimic the classic tie-dye pattern, making a beautiful and long-lasting decoration for festivals like Diwali.
STEP 1 : Paint the Bases
- Take a large square canvas sheet and paint the entire surface with Fevicryl Acrylic Colour Red.
STEP 2 : Trace the design
- Once the red paint is dry, use a pencil and tracing paper to trace your desired design onto the large canvas base.
STEP 3 : Create the Bandhani Print
- Using a mandala dotting tool, dip it into Fevicryl Acrylic Colour White and carefully create a Bandhani print by dotting over the traced design.
- Continue this process to cover the entire cloth base with the dotted pattern.
STEP 4 : Complete the design
- Take the square rangoli base and complete painting the design on the cutout.
- Let it dry for a while.
STEP 5 : Decorate the semi-circles
- Take a separate canvas sheet, cut out two semi-circle shapes, and paint them red as well.
- Let all the painted pieces dry completely.
- Do the same Bandhani dotting print on the two semi-circle cutouts.
STEP 6 : Decorate the circular cutouts
- Once the dots are dry, stick a small circle (cut from fabric or painted) in the center of each with Fevicryl Fabric Glue, painting it yellow and its borders red.
- Add golden lace to the borders of the circles to enhance the design.
STEP 7 : Assemble the Rangoli
- Take your large square canvas base and stick a golden lace on its borders with Fevicryl Fabric Glue (or stitch it for a more permanent finish).
STEP 8 : Arrange the cutouts
- Now, take the two semi-circles and attach them to two sides of the square base, forming a diya-like shape.
STEP 9 : Final Look
- Your beautiful Bandhani print rangoli is ready to brighten up your home!
