STEP 1 : Prepare the Base
  • Take a clean wooden frame. Paint the surface evenly with Fevicryl Acrylic Colour White 27.
  • Once dry, apply a layer of Fevicol MR over it and spread it evenly.
  • Let this layer dry completely.
STEP 2 : Create the Crackled Effect
  • Now, take Fevicryl Acrylic Colour from the Carnival pack and paint a coat of Golden colour on top of the Fevicol layer.
  • Allow it to dry naturally.
STEP 3 : See the effect

As it dries, you’ll see a beautiful, crackled texture appearing on the surface.

STEP 4 : Prepare the clay
  • Take Fevicryl Mouldit (resin and hardener), mix both parts thoroughly to make a smooth dough.
  • Roll it out and use clay moulds or freehand shapes to form small kites.
  • Give texture or impressions using tools or household items like mesh or stamps.
  • Let them dry.
STEP 5 : Paint the clay
  • Paint the dried clay kites using Fevicryl Acrylic Colours Carnival Pack Chrome Yellow and Pink.
  • Feel free to explore your own festive colour combinations.
  •  Let them dry.
STEP 6 : Craft the Fabric Base
  • Cut a corrugated sheet in the shape of a kite.
  • Wrap it neatly with a fabric of your choice and secure it at the back.
  • This will form the base design for your frame.
STEP 7 : Detail the Kites
  • Use Fevicryl 3D Outliners to define the borders of the MDF Boards.
  • Fill the centre portions with Fevicryl Glass Colours for a glossy, stained effect.
  • Allow them to dry completely.
STEP 8 : Assemble & Finish
  • Once all elements are dry, use Fevicryl Fabric Glue to stick to the clay kites along the borders of your frame.

STEP 9 : Final Look
  • Insert a photo of your choice at the center.
  • Your festive Mixed Media Kite Frame is ready to brighten up your space this Makar Sankranti.
