Description :
Create a beautiful Zharoka wall piece inspired by lippan art using clay, mirrors, and pastel paints. This DIY project guides you through designing, carving, and decorating for a stunning decorative piece.
STEP 1 : Source the base material
- We are going to make a lippan design-inspired wooden plank using Mouldit and mirrors.
- Take a wooden plank measuring 9” x 14”.
- Paint the plank with a base coat of Acrylic Colour White 27. Let it dry.
STEP 2 : Paint the final coat
Paint the second coat using Acrylic Colour Pastel Pink from the Pastel Kit. Let it dry.
STEP 3 : Prepare the clay, make coil design and stick mirror
- Draw the lippan-inspired design on the painted plank.
- Stick an acrylic mirror in the center with Fabric Glue.
- Prepare the clay dough by mixing Mouldit resin base and hardener, then roll the clay into thin coils and let them get semi-dry.
- Start sticking the coils in a crisscross pattern around the mirror using Fabric Glue.
- Similarly, create an arch shape with the clay around the mirror using clay carving tools. Let it dry.
STEP 4 : Stick the flowers and mirrors
- Roll the dough to make a slab with a rolling pin, then use the flower plunger to create flowers from the slab.
- Stick the flowers in between the diamond shapes created with the coils using Fabric Glue, ensuring that the flowers are placed in alternate diamond shapes.
- Stick small diamond-shaped mirrors aesthetically on the plank with Fabric Glue. Let it dry.
STEP 5 : Finishing touches
- Paint the coils with dry strokes of Acrylic Colour Pearl Metallic Gold 352. Let it dry.
- Enhance the flowers by sticking pink ornamental stones using Fabric Glue. Let it dry.
- Your Zharoka with lippan art is now ready to decorate the wall.
