Wooden Coasters With Painted Mysore Inlay Work

Fevicryl Acrylic Colour Burnt Sienna 01, Black 02, Dark Brown 05, Indian Red 10, White 27, Fine Art Brushes, Ready Wooden Coaster Set, A4 White Paper, Yellow Carbon Paper, Pencil, Colour Palette, Water Container, Varnish

Have you always appreciated inlay work but couldn’t find these rare pieces of art in the market? Don’t worry, you can now make your own set of inlay coasters with the versatile Fevciryl Acrylic Colours. Read more for the process.

STEP 1 : Source the base
  • We are going to paint the wooden coasters with inlay design on it.
  • Take the set of wooden coasters with holder. You may use any wooden base of your choice.
STEP 2 : Paint the base coat
  • Paint the coasters and holder with the base coat of Acrylic Colour White 27.
  • Let it dry.
STEP 3 : Draw the inlay design
  • Take an A4 white paper draw the floral mandala design on it in the size of the coaster on it.
  • Trace the same design on the coasters with yellow carbon paper.
  • Refer to the image.
STEP 4 : Paint the design
  • Paint the design on the mandala with Acrylic Colour Burnt Sienna 01, Black 02, Dark Brown 05, Indian Red 10 and White 27.
  • Let it dry completely.
STEP 5 : Finishing
  • Paint the rest area around the mandala design with Acrylic Colour Burnt Sienna 01.
  • Let it dry completely. Then apply a coat of varnish on them to finish.
