Tray With Emboss Stencil Design And Decoupage Coasters

Fevicryl Acrylic Colour Black 02 , Fevicryl 3 D Outliner Red 701, Yellow 703, White 707, Fevicryl Modge Podge Gloss, Fine Art Brushes

How beautiful is this combo of serving tray and coasters made using Fevicryl products! This combo is sure to add a festive feel while entertaining the guests at home and can make for a nice handmade gifting option too. 

 

STEP 1 : Source the base

• We are going to make the tray with emboss design with 3 D outliner along with the coasters with Mysore Ganjifa design.

• Take a plain wooden tray.

STEP 2 : Paint the base coat

• Paint the tray with the base coat of Acrylic Colour Black 02.

• Let it dry.

STEP 3 : Making a stencil

• We are going to make the stencil design for the tray.

• Take A4 white paper draw the geometrical design on it in the size of the inner side of the tray.

• Place the OHP sheet on it and mark the design with CD marker.

• Cut the stencil design with a paper cutter.

STEP 4 : Embossing with the stencil

• Place the stencil design in the tray, pour the 3 D Outliner Yellow 703 beside the design on the OHP sheet and drag the 3 D on the design with thick card paper.

• Remove the stencil carefully.

• Let it dry completely.

• Refer to the image.

STEP 5 : Paint more

• Similarly paint 2 more such trays using Acrylic Colour Black 02 , 3 D Outliner Red 701 and White 707.

• Let it dry.

STEP 6 : Source the coasters

• Take the round MDF coasters measuring 3 ½” diameter approximately.

STEP 7 : Take Ganjifa designs

• Take the colour print of Mysore Ganjifa on the paper in the size of the coastrers.

• Mark and cut the print in the size of the coasters with a pair of the scissors.

 

 

STEP 8 : Decoupage on the coasters.

• Stick the circular print of the Ganjifa design on the coasters using Modge Podge Gloss by removing the air pockets carefully.

• Let it dry.

STEP 9 : Finishing

• Apply two to three coats of Modge Podge Gloss on the print to secure the design.

• Leave it to dry.
