Tie And Dye Flags Decor With Tricolour

You Will Need:

Fevicryl Acrylic Colours Light Green 12, Orange 17, Ultramarine Blue 23, White 27, Fevicryl Mouldit, Fine Art Brushes, Cobbler Thread, Readymade Blue Woolen Tassels, Golden Beads, Needle and Thread, Colour Palette, Water Container.

Make flags to decorate your buildings or common area in a new way! Tie and Dye folding results in some amazing patterns and will give a beautiful twist to common streamers, this Independence Day.

STEP 1 : Source and tie the fabric.
  • We are going to make the die and dye fabric flags décor with tri colour.
  • Take the 1-meter cotton fabric.
  • Mark and cut the pieces in 6” x 8” in size.
  • Fold the fabric piece in vertical style in the centre. Make the fanfolds on the vertical fold in English letter “V” and tie it on two equal intervals with thread.
  • Refer to the image.
STEP 2 : Paint the fabric
  • Dampen the tied fabric with little water and paint it with Acrylic Colours Light Green 12 and Orange 17.
  • Let it dry completely.
STEP 3 : Open the tied fabric
  • Remove the threads you will get to see the effect like this.
STEP 4 : Make multiple
  • Similarly tie 5 fabric pieces in different way and paint it with tri colours using Acrylic Colours Light Green 12 and Orange 17.
  • Let it dry completely.
  • Iron the fabric piece neatly.
  • Take the dyed fabric pieces with tricolour.  Stitch the border to secure it with needle and thread by keeping a small loop on the top for the thread to pass through.
  • Refer to the image.
STEP 5 : Attach the tassels
  • Attach the blue woolen tassels with golden beads to the flag towards the bottom side corners with Needle and the thread.
  • Refer to the image.
STEP 6 : Make Mouldit beads
  • Take the Mouldit resin base and hardener to make the beads.
  • Paint the bead with Acrylic Colour Ultramarine Blue 23 and little amount of White 27.
  • Let it dry.
STEP 7 : Assembly
  • Take the cobbler thread pass the thread through the Mouldit bead and the loop on the flag to make the wall décor of the flags.
