Tie And Dye Fabric Kites Decor
You Will Need:

Celebrate the festival of kites with this beautiful DIY! We can see a fusion of vibrant colours, resist technique and lovely Warli art in this project.
STEP 1 : Source the base
- We are going to make the Tie and Dye Fabric kites decor to celebrate the Makar Sankranti Festival.
- Take the pieces of poplin fabric measuring approximately 10” x10" in size.
STEP 2 : The dyeing process
- Dye the pieces of fabric with simple tie technique using thick thread.
- Dampen the tied fabric with little amount of the water. Remove the excess water and dye the fabric pieces with Fabric Colours Chrome Yellow 203, Crimson 204, Pink 218 and Cerulean Blue 232.
- Let it dry completely.
- Remove the thread you will get to see the Tie and Dye effect.
STEP 3 : Iron the fabric
- Iron the fabric neatly.
- Refer to the image.
STEP 4 : Draw and transfer the design on fabric
- Take A4 white paper, draw the Warli design inspired from the Warli tribe on it.
- Trace the same design on the fabric with yellow carbon paper.
STEP 5 : Paint the design on fabric
- Paint the design with Fabric Colour Black 202.
- Let it dry.
STEP 6 : Make the frames
- Take the wooden sticks mark and cut the stick to make the kite shaped frames.
STEP 7 : Assembly
- Paint the frames with Vice-Versa colours using Chrome Yellow 203, Crimson 204, Pink 218 and Cerulean Blue 232. Let it dry.
- Stick and framed the dyed fabric with painted wooden stick in the shape of the kite using Fabric Glue. Let it dry.
- Take the paper canvas, mark and cut the triangular shaped to make the tail part of kite. Paint the triangular tail of kite with Fabric Colour Chrome Yellow 203, Crimson 204, Pink 218 and Cerulean Blue 232. Let it dry.
- Stick the triangle tail of kite appropriately with Fabric Glue.
- Let it dry.
