Description :

Turn scrap glass bottles into beautiful Tibetan mosaic tealite holders using Mouldit and vibrant Acrylic Colours.

STEP 1 : Procure the Base
  • Collect plain glass bottles from scrap.

  • These will serve as the base for the Tibetan-inspired tealite holder.

STEP 2 : Paint the base coat and build the design
  • Paint the bottle with Acrylic Colour Black 02 (add a bit of talcum for a matte effect). Let it dry.

  • Mix Fevicryl Mouldit resin and hardener, roll it into a slab, and cut mosaic shapes from the dough.

  • Attach the mosaic chips to the bottle using Fabric Glue and add ornamental clay designs on the mosaics with modelling tools. Let it dry.

STEP 3 : Final look for clay work

Once the clay design is complete, the bottle will have a striking mosaic appearance, ready for painting.

STEP 4 : Prepare the tealite holders

Paint the terracotta diyas with Acrylic Colour Black 02 and add mosaic chips using Fabric Glue. Let it dry.

STEP 5 : Attach the tealite holders

Stick the decorated terracotta tealite holders on the top of each bottle using Fabric Glue. Let it dry.

STEP 6 : Paint the Tibetan mosaic design
  • Replicate the Tibetan mosaic look by painting the bottle in shades of Coral Red 66, Teal Blue 68, and Pearl Metallic Gold 352 over the Black base. Let it dry.

  • Place tealite candles in the holders for the final look.
