Probably one of the most loved fairy tales of our times is ‘The Frog Prince’. Here is our take on the cute and quirky prince completely made using Fevicryl range of products.

STEP 1 : Source the base
  • We are going to make a mixed media canvas.
  • Take plain canvas measuring 12” x 16” in size.
STEP 2 : Stick newspaper on the base
  • Cover the canvas with the pieces of Newspaper by sticking it with Fabric Glue.
  • Let it dry completely.
  • Refer to the image.
STEP 3 : Draw and paint the frog on the canvas
  • Draw the basic drawing of the frog with hat on the covered canvas.
  • Paint the frog with the hat on head using Acrylic Colours Burnt Sienna 01, Black 02, Chrome Yellow 03, Crimson 04, Sap Green 21, White 27, Leaf Green 62, Salmon Pink 65, Neon Yellow 011 and Neon Orange 017
  • Let it dry completely.
  • Refer to the image.
STEP 4 : Make the hat
  • We are going to make the hat with sequins in it.
  • Take the card paper; draw and paint the thick outline of the hat similar to the hat on the head of the frog with Acrylic Colour Black 02.
  • Let it dry.
STEP 5 : Making a window in the hat
  • Cut a smaller window on the card paper in the shape of the hat with a paper cutter.
  • Take the OHP sheet mark and cut it in the size of the hat.
  • Stick the cutout of OHP hat from the rear side of the card paper cut of hat using Fabric Glue.
  • Let it dry.
  • Refer to the image.
STEP 6 : Making the glasses
  • We are going to make the glasses for the frog.
  • Take an A4 OHP sheet, draw the circles for the glasses.
  • Paint the outline of the circles with 3D Outliner Pearl Metallic Gold 352.
  • Let it dry.
  • Paint the circles with Water Based Glass Colours Golden Yellow, Tomato Red and Pink.
  • Let it dry.
STEP 7 : Assemble the hat and the glasses
  • Arrange and stick the hat using the cardboard cutout on the painted base hat by adding the sparkling sequins inside and secure the upper side with OHP hat using Fabric Glue. This will create the effect of the shaker sequins in the hat.
  • Similarly Take the cardboard circle and stick the painted OHP glasses on it to create a raised effect.
  • Let it dry.

STEP 8 : Mould the hand
  • We are going to make a hand of the frog coming out of the canvas for hand shake with Mouldit.
  • Take Mouldit resin base and hardener, mix it thoroughly to make even dough.
  • Take the dough, shape it to make the hand of the frog with the help of the clay carving tools.
  • Let it get semi dry, then stick it appropriately on the canvas with Fabric Glue and little amount of the clay.
  • Leave it to dry.
STEP 9 : Paint the hand
  • Paint the hand with the shade of the green like the body colour using Acrylic Colours Chrome Yellow 03, Sap Green 21, Leaf Green 62 and Neon Yellow 011.
  • Let it dry.
STEP 10 : Finishing and typography
  • Paint the background of the frog with Acrylic Colour Burnt sienna 01. Let it dry.
  • Take the piece of card paper, draw, and cut the shape of the cloud.
  • Write the quote “I am feeling a little froggy” painted with Acrylic Colour Black 02 using Fabric Glue for sticking.
  • Leave it to dry.
