Description :
Tanjore is an age-old art that is characterized by use of gold sheet and bright stones. Here is a lovely take on the same where the motif has been replicated on fabric using Fevicryl Fabric Colours.
STEP 1 : Draw the design
- We are going to make a fabric patch for a blouse with an elephant motif, inspired by Tanjore painting.
- Take an A4 white paper, draw an elephant from Tanjore style, measuring 4” x 5” in size.
- Take a 5” x 6” beige poplin fabric (we are taking extra fabric to fold from all the sides later).
- Trace the motif on the fabric with black carbon paper.
STEP 2 : Paint the design
- Paint the elephant motif using Fabric Colours - Black 202, Crimson 204, Dark Green 206, Light Green 212, Maroon 214, Fevicryl Acrylic Colours Pearl - White 301 and Pearl Metallic - Gold 352.
- Let it dry completely.
STEP 3 : Paint the design
- Enhance the motif patch with 3D Outliner Pearl Metallic - Gold 352, stick few assorted ornamental stones with Fabric Glue.
- Let it dry.
STEP 4 : Take a plain cloth
- Take a plain readymade gold colour blouse.
STEP 5 : Finishing touches
- Stick the patch on the rear side of the blouse, by folding the edges using Fabric Glue.
- Let it dry.
- Enhance the edges of the folded patch by sticking the red and green ornamental stones with Fabric Glue.
- Let it dry completely.
STEP 6 : Final look
- Your blouse with a pretty Tanjore motif will look like this.
