You Will Need:

Fevicryl Fabric Colours - Burnt Sienna 201, Chrome Yellow 203, Sap Green 221, White 227, Cerulean Blue 232, Fine Art Brushes, A3 White Paper, Yellow, Blue Carbon Paper, Pencil, Scissors, Blue Woolen Tassels, Needle and Thread, Colour Palette, Water Container.

Designed a tablecloth painted with Fevicryl Fabric Colours and taking shades of blue to create lotus flowers in a very distinct way.

STEP 1 : Source the base material
  • We are going to paint a tablecloth using Fabric Colours.
  • Take an A3 white paper, draw a lotus design on it.
  • Take half a meter mal fabric, mark and cut the fabric roughly in 28” x 28” in the size.
STEP 2 : Dye the fabric border
  • Dye the edges of the fabric 4” to 5” by dampening the edges with a little amount of water.
  • Remove any excess water and dye using Fabric Colour - Sap Green 221.
  • Leave it to dry completely.
  • Iron the fabric neatly.
STEP 3 : Trace the design
  • Trace the design along the border with blue and yellow carbon paper.
STEP 4 : Paint the design
  • Paint the lotus design in a shading manner with Fabric Colours - Burnt Sienna 201, Chrome Yellow 203, White 227 and Cerulean Blue 232.
  • Leave it to dry completely.
STEP 5 : Paint the flowers
  • Paint the lotus leaves using Fabric Colours - Burnt Sienna 201, Sap Green 221 and white 227.
  • Leave it to dry completely.
STEP 6 : Stitch the tassels
  • Take the blue woolen tassels
  • Stitch the tassels towards the corners of the tablecloth.
