Pompoms And Mirror Basket
You Will Need:
Fevicryl Premium Fabric Glue, Basket, Buckram, Pompoms (Dark Pink and Red), Tassel Lace, Shells, Circle Mirrors (5 Different Sizes), Crochet & Jute Yarn (Yellow, Orange, Blue, Golden, Black), White Cotton Cord, Golden Yarn, Wool (Dark Pink And Blue), White Just Yarn
Description :
Fun and colourful basket adorned with pompoms , mirrors and shells! A perfect bag to take along to keep your dandiya sticks.
STEP 1 : Base selection
- Take a hand knotted/ hand woven basket made out of natural yarn/ grass as seen in the image above.
STEP 2 : Creating mirror border
- The first way to create border around the mirrors is to stick the mirrors on buckram sheet.
- Take blue crochet and jute yarn, twist them together and stick them around the mirror as seen in the image.
- You can do the same with all the colour yarns mentioned above and around all the different sizes of mirrors.
- Stick them using Fevicryl Fabric Glue
- Let it dry
- Cut them once they have dried completely using fabric scissors
STEP 3 : Second way of creating borders
- The second way to create border around the mirrors is to stick the mirrors on buckram sheet.
- Take ready-made circular yarn frames as seen in the image above and stick them around the mirror as seen in the image.
- You can do the same with all the colour yarns mentioned above and around all the different sizes of mirrors.
- Stick them using Fevicryl Fabric Glue
- Let it dry
- Cut them once they have dried completely using fabric scissors
STEP 4 : Final Mirrors
- All your mirrors of different sizes will look like this once they have the yarn border/ yarn frames around them.
- Make sure to use gold for one of the mirror sizes to add a bit of bling and shine.
STEP 5 : Making of tassels
- Take a thick white cotton cord as seen in the image above
- Wrap it with gold yarn at various intervals as seen in the image.
- Secure them by sticking it with Fevicryl Fabric Glue
- Let it dry
- Open up one end of the white yarn a little bit to make it look like a tassel
- Wrap the area above the tassel part with gold yarn.
STEP 6 : Attaching the buckram
- Take the blue tassel ribbon and stick a thin strip of buckram on the backside.
- Take the pompoms and stick small pieces of buckram on them as seen in the image above.
- Use Fevicryl Fabric Glue to stick them on
- Let it dry
STEP 7 : Sticking of the blue tassel
- Take the blue tassel ribbon and stick it around the mouth of the basket as shown in the image above.
- Use Fevicryl Fabric Glue to stick them on.
- Let it dry
STEP 8 : Sticking of all the elements
- Take the pompoms, mirrors, shells and the white cord and stick them on to the basket as shown in the image above.
- Use Fevicryl Fabric Glue to stick them on
- Let it dry
STEP 9 : Finishing of the product
- Take pink wool, blue crochet and just yarn, white jute cord and knot them around the handle of the basket as seen in the image.
- Use Fevicryl Fabric Glue to stick them on/ secure them on to the handle
- Let it dry
