Craft a charming tree-shaped tealight holder using clay and pastel acrylic colours for a soft, elegant look.

STEP 1 : Prepare the Clay & Clay Cone Shape
  • Shape a cone using an OHP sheet and newspaper as a mould.

  • Mix Mouldit resin and hardener into an even dough, then roll it into a medium-thin slab.

  • Place the slab on the cone to shape it.

  • Let it semi-dry before removing it from the mould. Refer to the image

STEP 2 : Build the tree shape
  • Use additional clay to sculpt the tree branches and a holder for the tealight on the top.

  • Attach them with fabric glue and clay modelling tools.

STEP 3 : Create the texture on tree
  • Add bark-like texture to the tree using clay modelling tools. Allow it to dry. Refer to the image.

STEP 4 : Prepare the clay motifs
  • Design and cut out bird and flower motifs from the clay slab.

  • Use clay modelling tools and fabric glue to craft flowers and other details. Let them dry. Refer to the image.

STEP 5 : Final look
  • Paint the tree and clay motifs with Fevicryl Acrylic Colours Black 02, White 27, and pastel shades.

  •  Once dry, attach the motifs aesthetically to the tree using fabric glue. Let the entire piece dry completely.
