Paper Yarn Purse

You Will Need:

Fevicryl Fabric Glue Premium, Fevicryl Fabric Colour ( Crimson, Salmon Pink), Fevicryl Acrylic Colour White, Pencil, Scale, Paper Yarns (Light Blue, Purple, Dark Blue, Green), Corrugated Sheet, Fabric Scissors, Paper Cutter, Mul Mul White Fabric, Green Cotton Fabric

Here is an amazing DIY of a purse with paper yarns and fabric that has been made using Fevicryl Fabric Glue.

STEP 1 : Source the base
  • Take A2 size corrugated sheet
STEP 2 : Cut the shape
  • Cut two triangles measuring 10”x10”x10”
  • Cut two shapes within each triangle measuring 2.75” x 1.5”x 1.5”x1.5”
  • Use paper cutter to cut the shapes
STEP 3 : Paint the base
  • Paint the base using fevicryl acrylic colour white.
  • Use a brush to paint it.
  • Let it dry
STEP 4 : Tie the fabric
  • Take white mul mul fabric and tie it up after bunching it together like shown in the image.
  • Use cotton yarn to tie it.
STEP 5 : Dyeing the fabric
  • Wet the fabric and paint the spaces between with fevicryl fabric colour ( crimson, salmon pink)
  • Let it dry
STEP 6 : Pattern on fabric
  • Once dried, open the fabric and dry it completely.
  • The pattern must be similar to what you see in the image
STEP 7 : Sticking on sides
  • Cut strips and stick them on the edges of the painted base and the handle area.
  • Use Fevicryl Fabric glue to stick it
  • Let it dry
STEP 8
  • Take paper yarns in colours shown in the image.
STEP 9 : Sticking of yarns
  • Stick 3 of the paper yarns on the triangular base as seen in the image
  • Use Fevicryl Fabric Glue to stick it
  • Let it dry
STEP 10 : Sticking green paper yarn
  • Stick the green paper yarn on the other side of the base
  • Use Fevicryl Fabric glue to stick it
  • Let it dry
  • Do not cover the base fully here.
STEP 11 : Pattern for pouch
  • Measure 22” long x 4” wide on paper as shown
  • Measure 4” long paper piece as shown
  • Translate this on to the tie dye fabric .
  • Make sure to leave 1” on all sides of both the cut outs for sticking and finising.
STEP 12 : : Translate pattern to fabric
  • Once you cut the pattern, first stick the 22” long x 4” wide fabric piece in between the two triangles.
  • Make sure to not stick little bit near the handle.
  • Insert a small fabric tying piece with pompoms in this space and stick it completely.
  • Do this on both sides.
  • Once you stick them, take the 4” long fabric piece and stick on the sides as u can see in the image.
  • Use Fevicryl Fabric glue to stick it
  • Let it dry
STEP 13 : Final look

The paper yarn purse is ready for you to pair it with your favourite jeans and tank top!
