Maintaining a diary is always cathartic and it renders the mind some freshness from our busy lives. It is a personal record of our day-to-day events and why shouldn’t it reflect our style? Here is a cool inspiration for you to customize this very dear journal.

STEP 1 : Take the base
  • Take half a meter poplin fabric.
  • Mark and cut the fabric in the size of the diary 2” extra from all the sides further to make the fold inner side of the diary to secure the ends.
STEP 2 : Draw the design and paint the base.
  • Draw the simple sketch of the house door and the window on the fabric.
  • Refer to the image.
  • Start painting the old rustic wall of the house using the bristles of the brush using the shade of grey made by mixing Fabric colours Black 202 and White 227.
  • Let it dry.
STEP 3 : Paint the details of the house
  • Paint the details of the house front with the cactus plant beside the window using Fabric Colours Burnt Sienna 201, Black 202, Crimson 204, Dark Brown 205, Dark Green 206, Golden Yellow 209, Orange 217, Sap Green 221, Yellow Ocher 226, White 227, Teal Blue 268 and Acrylic Colour Neon Pink 018.
  • Let it dry completely.
STEP 4 : Cover the diary with the painted fabric
  • Cover the diary with the painted fabric cover neatly using Fabric Glue for sticking the extra fabric towards the inner side of the diary.
  • Let it dry completely.
  • Your final diary will look like this.
