You Will Need:

Fevicryl Fabric Glue, Paper, Pencil, Scale, Measuring Tape, Fabric Chalk, Fabric Scissors, Cotton Fabric (Green, Dark Pink, Mango Yellow), Pink Printed Fabric, Black Casement Fabric

Here is an amazing DIY of a tote bag with patchwork that has been made using Fevicryl Fabric Glue.

STEP 1
  • Take various types of cotton fabric as shown in the image
STEP 2
  • Based on a hexagonal grid, create 3 parts as shown using 3 different colours.
  • Cut them using fabric scissors
  • Make sure to leave ½ inch on all sides
STEP 3
  • Make more such shapes as seen in the image.
STEP 4
  • Stick the shapes together as shown in the image
  • Use Fevicryl Fabric Glue to stick them together
STEP 5
  • Make various such shapes as shown in the image given
STEP 6
  • Stick the shapes together to form a tessellation grid as seen in the image
  • The design should measure 15” x 12”
STEP 7
  • Crease and Fold the sides which is being done for better finish
  • This reduces the size to 14.5” x 12”
STEP 8
  • Take black casement fabric measuring 16.5” x 14” on one side.
  • Total length will be 33” x 14”
  • Use 1.5” on top (both sides) for folding and finishing, 1” on the sides for folding and finishing.
STEP 9
  • Cut a v at the intersection where the black fabric is folded into ½
  • Use fabric scissors to cut it
STEP 10
  • Place the grid design on one side of the black fabric as shown.
  • Stick it to the black fabric using Fevicryl Fabric Glue
  • Let it dry
STEP 11
  • Fold the sides of the bag towards insides as seen in the image
STEP 12
  • Take 5” x 30” black casement fabric.
  • Leave 1” on both sides for folding as seen
STEP 13
  • Fold 1” from the sides
  • Fold the whole strip from the mid vertically and stick them together using Fevicryl Fabric Glue
  • The strip width will measure 1.5” post sticking
STEP 14
  • This is how the strips look once folded
STEP 15
  • Create the bag by sticking the edges using Fevicryl Fabric Glue
  • Take the strips and create the handles for the bag by sticking them to the top of the bag.
  • Use Fevicryl Fabric Glue to stick it.
  • Let it dry
STEP 16
  • Take printed fabric measuring 16.5” x 14” on one side.
  • Total length will be 33” x 14”
  • Use 1.5” on top (both sides) for folding and finishing, 1” on the sides for folding and finishing.
STEP 17
  • Take green fabric measuring 8”x6”
  • Leave 1” extra on all sides to do a double fold finish.
STEP 18
  • Place the pouch on one side of the printed fabric as shown and stick 3 sides of it using Fevicryl Fabric Glue.
  • Let it dry.
STEP 19
  • Reverse the lining fabric and fold the edges as shown.
STEP 20
  • Place the lining bag inside the black bag as shown and stick the sides to the inner sire of the black bag
  • Use Fevicryl Fabric Glue to stick it.
  • Let it dry
STEP 21
  • Give the glue enough time to dry so that the bag can be used to carry around

The Mango shower tote is ready to be used during the spring festivities.
