Transform a scrap glass bottle into a stunning piece of home decor with Madhubani art and handcrafted clay pendants. This intermediate-level project showcases traditional Indian motifs using Fevicryl Acrylic Colours and Mouldit

STEP 1 : Procure the Base & Paint
  • Take a plain glass bottle from scrap.
  • Paint the bottle with a base coat of Acrylic Colour White 27.
  • Let it dry.
STEP 2 : Draw the Design and Make Clay Pendants
  • Draw horizontal borders inspired by Madhubani art on the bottle.
  • Mix Mouldit resin base and hardener to make an even dough.
  • Use the dough to make 3 small pendants.
  • Let the pendants dry.
  • Stick the flat pendants on the bottle in the middle of the horizontal band design using Fabric Glue.
  • Let it dry.
STEP 3 : Paint the Design
  • Paint the design on the bottle with Acrylic Colours Burnt Sienna 01, Black 02, Chrome Yellow 03, Crimson 04, Light Green 12, Orange 17, White 27, Sky Blue 63, Deep Brilliant Purple 64, Teal Blue 68, and Neon Pink 018.
  • Let it dry. Refer to the image.
STEP 4 : Final Look
  • Draw small motifs on each pendant.
  • Paint the pendants with appropriate colours.
  • Let it dry. Refer to the image.
