Lippan Coaster

You Will Need:

Fevicryl Premium Fabric Glue, Fevicryl MouldIt, Fevicryl Acrylic Colours (White, Deep Brilliant Purple), Paper, Pencil, Compass, Scale, Carbon Paper, Scissors, Buckram, 2 Round Mdf Board (5 “ Diameter), Brush, Plastic Mirror Tikli ( In 2 Sizes), Barbeque Sticks, Wool (Leaf Green), Silk Yarn (Green), Cardboard/ Corrugated Sheet

Description :

Beautiful pink and white lippan coaster with mirrors and fresh green tassels around them made completely using Fevicryl Fabric Glue.  

STEP 1 : Base selection
  • Take 2 wooden coasters measuring 5” in diameter. 
STEP 2 : Paint the base coat
  • Paint the coasters using Fevicryl Acrylic Colour White as seen in the image. 
  • Let it dry 
STEP 3 : Transfer the design
  • Using yellow carbon sheet and pencil, transfer the design on to the coaster. 
STEP 4
  • Take Mouldit and mix two colours (White and Deep Brilliant Purple) with it as seen in the image above. 
STEP 5
  • Combine the two colours and create long and thin sticks as shown in the image given. 
STEP 6
  • Use these dual colour Mouldit sticks to stick on the wooden coaster as shown in the image. 
  • Use Fevicryl Fabric Glue to stick it. 
  • Let it dry 
STEP 7
  • Take another mixed Mouldit stick and cut small pieces out of it using a cutter. 
STEP 8
  • Start placing the cut-out pieces on the lines traced out on the wooden coaster. 
  • Refer to the image given.  
  • Stick them using Fevicryl Fabric Glue 
  • Also begin to stick the tikli mirrors in between the squares. 
  • Stick them using Fevicryl Fabric Glue 
  • Let them all dry. 
STEP 9
  • Keeping the measurement of the coaster in mind, cut three different circles using 3 different materials and different sizes. 
  • Outer ring from buckram, card board ring measuring the inside circle of the buckram ring and lastly a buckram fabric circle which would be of the full circle measurement.  
STEP 10
  • Using green wool and dark green sewing yarn, make small green tassels as seen in the image.  
STEP 11
  • Paste the outer ring circle on the back of the coaster using Fevicryl Fabric Glue. 
  • Once dried, paste the green tassels on the ring as shown in the image.  
  • Use Fevicryl Fabric Glue. to stick them. 
  • Let it dry. 
STEP 12
  • Once the tassels have been stuck around the circle, paste the cardboard circle in the center as shown in the image. 
  • Use Fevicryl Fabric Glue to stick it. 
  • Let it dry 
STEP 13
  • Finish the backside of the coaster by pasting the circular buckram piece as shown in the image. 
  • Use Fevicryl Fabric Glue to stick it. 
  • Let it dry 
STEP 14
  • Finish the coaster by sticking mirrors on the coaster as shown in the image. 
  • Use Fevicryl Fabric Glue to stick it. 
  • Let it dry 
  • Trim the edges of the tassels incase u find any stray long yarn.
