Description :
This is just the DIY accessory for the upcoming festive season. Make it easily with the things found at home and customize the pendant as per your attire.
STEP 1 : Drawing the design
• We are going to make the pendant for the occasion of Navaratri with the depiction of the three goddesses Laxmi, Saraswati and Durga with Fabric Colours.
• Take an A4 size white paper, draw rectangle measuring 3” x 4” in size.
• Draw the faces of three goddesses inspired from the paintings of great artist Jamini Roy on it.
• Take plain piece of yellow fabric.
STEP 2 : Trace the design
• Trace the same design on the fabric with black carbon paper.
STEP 3 : Paint the design
• Paint the faces with Fabric Colours Burnt Sienna 201, Black 202, Crimson 204, Golden Yellow 209, Orange 217, Sap Green 221, Ultramarine Blue 223, White 227 and Flesh Tint 230,
• Let it dry.
STEP 4 : Draw the background
• Draw the floral jali style design behind the lady faces.
STEP 5 : Paint the background
• Paint the jali design in the shade of light yellow made by mixing Fabric Colour Chrome Yellow 203 and White 227.
• Let it dry completely.
STEP 6 : Source the MDF base
• Take the piece of MDF wood measuring 3” x 4” in size.
• Pierce the holes in the upper corners further for the attachments.
STEP 7 : Sticking the painted fabric
• Take the paper canvas, mark and cut the paper canvas in the size of the MDF.
• Stick the paper canvas on the MDF using Fabric Glue. Let it dry.
• Stick the painted fabric on the MDF neatly with the Fabric Glue.
• Leave it to dry completely.
• Refer to the image.
STEP 8 : Making the strand
• Take colourful wooden beads, pearl and the black cord; pass the thread through the beads securing it with the knots.
• Attach the beaded strand to the pendant neatly.
STEP 9 : Finishing and Assembly
• Similarly take few beads and pearl pass, the thread through the beads to make small strands of 3 beads.
• Attach 3 beaded strands towards the base of the pendant sticking it from behind.
• Take a piece of same yellow fabric; mark and cut the piece in the size of the pendant.
• Stick the fabric piece from the rear side of the pendant with Fabric Glue.
• Leave it to dry.
