Description :
Kali Peeli taxis are a constant in Mumbai and taking inspiration from their quirkiness the elements have been imbibed in this summer DIY project.
STEP 1 : Source the base
- Take a 12” x 12” canvas board.
STEP 2 : Draw the design
- Draw the tropical flowers design with the taxi in the center on it.
STEP 3 : Mix Fevicryl Mouldit
- We are going to build the design of the taxi in Mouldit slab.
- Take Mouldit resin base and hardener, mix it thoroughly to make even dough.
STEP 4 : Roll the dough
- Take the dough, roll it to make a medium thin slab with rolling pin.
STEP 5 : Mould the taxi
- Mark and cut the taxi from the slab.
- Take clay to build the parts of the taxi like the grill, the bumper, head lights, the fare meter on the taxi, the wiper, the carrier using clay carving tools and Fabric Glue for sticking.
- Let it dry.
STEP 6 : Paint the elements
- Paint the taxi and the floral background with Acrylic Colours Burnt sienna 01, Black 02, Chrome Yellow 03, Crimson 04, Golden yellow 09, Sap green 21, Turquoise blue 22, White 27, Sky blue 63, Deep brilliant purple 64 and Teal blue 68.
- Let it dry completely.
STEP 7 : Finishing
- Take some clay to make the hook to put it on the wall as well as attach the metal hook at the edge of the canvas using Fabric Glue.
- Let it dry completely.
- Your key holder is ready.
