Peacock was Krishna’s favorite so much so that that he used to have a feather always on his turban. Make a cool peacock tissue holder to present tissues along with lovely food during Janmashtami celebrations! This will add to the festive look and feel.
STEP 1 : Draw the design
- We are going to make the kalamkari peacock tissue holder with corrugated sheet and Mouldit.
- Take an A4 white paper draw the kalamkari peacock on it.
STEP 2 : Cut the design from a corrugated sheet.
- Take the corrugated sheet, draw and cut the kalamkari peacock design from the sheet along with the rectangular base.
- We are using the corrugated sheet to make the tissue holder in light weight.
STEP 3 : Assemble to form a holder
- Attach and stick the cut-out design of the peacock together as to form the holder using Fabric Glue.
- Let it dry.
STEP 4 : Mix Mouldit
- We are going to cover the kalamkari peacock tissue holder with Mouldit.
- Take Mouldit resin base and hardener, mix it thoroughly to make even dough.
STEP 5 : Roll Mouldit into a slab
- Take the dough, roll it to make the medium thin slab with a rolling pin.
- Let the slab get semi dry.
STEP 6 : Cover the base with Mouldit
- Draw and cut two such peacock from the slab.
- Cover and stick the corrugated base with the clay slab using little amount of clay and Fabric Glue.
- Let it dry completely.
STEP 7 : Transfer the design
- Paint the peacock using Acrylic Colour White 27.
- Let it dry.
- Trace the same design on kalamkari peacock design on the white base with yellow carbon paper.
STEP 8 : Paint the design
- Paint the design with Acrylic Colours Black 02, Chrome Yellow 03, Crimson 04, Golden Yellow 09, Maroon 14, Ultramarine Blue 23 and White 27.
- Leave it to dry completely.
- Your Kalamkari Peacock tissue holder is ready.
