Can you believe that a waste piece of cardboard can be transformed into something so gorgeous! Yes that’s possible only with Fevicryl Mouldit. Read more to learn how we made this.

STEP 1 : Source the base and do the markings.
  • We are going to make the jharoka design using corrugated sheet, Mouldit and Mirrors.
  • Take corrugated sheet.
  • Mark and cut the rectangular piece measuring 6” x 10” approximately.
STEP 2 : Draw and cut the shape
  • Draw and cut the shape of the jharoka from the sheet.
  • Refer to the image.
STEP 3 : Paint the base coat
  • Paint the jharoka with the base coat of Acrylic Colour White 27.
  • Let it dry.
STEP 4 : Mix Fevicryl Mouldit.
  • We are going to make the carved effect design with Mouldit on the jharoka by replicating the wooden carving design.
  • Take Mouldit resin base and hardener, mix it thoroughly to make even dough.
STEP 5 : Mould the shapes
  • Take the dough, shape it to make the round coils, the flower shape the twisted coil design with the help of the clay carving tools.
  • Start sticking the round coils, the flower shapes the twisted coil design on the jharoka shape using Fabric Glue.
  • Let it dry.

STEP 6 : The look.
  • Your jharoka will look like this at this stage.
STEP 7 : Make the center.
  • Take the piece of the corrugated sheet in the size of the window of the jharoka.
  • Paint the jharoka with the base coat of Acrylic Colour White 27 and the piece of the corrugated sheet in Black 02.
  • Let it dry.
STEP 8 : Finishing
  • Paint the jharoka with dry strokes of Acrylic Colour Pearl Metallic Gold 352.
  • Let it dry.
  • Take some clay roll it to make the coils out of it.
  • Make the floral design like the lippan art inside the jharoka using coils, mirrors and Fabric Glue.
  • Let it dry.
STEP 9 : Add embellishments
  • Paint the floral lippan design with Acrylic Colour Pearl metallic Gold 352.
  • Let it dry.
  • Enhance the jharoka by sticking few white ornamental stones, dull gold beads in between the design with Fabric Glue.
  • Leave it to dry.
