House On Mug

You Will Need:

An exotic DIY that converts a simple Mug into fancy decorative piece. This project will teach you how Fevicryl Mouldit can be shaped into forms and given textures. An interesting DIY and elegant piece of home decor

STEP 1 : Mix Fevicryl Mouldit

Take Fevicryl Mouldit – resin base & hardener, mix well to form an even soft dough.

STEP 2 : Clay slab technique

Roll the dough to make a medium thick slab using a rolling pin.

STEP 3 : Source the base material

Take Mug and saucer. The small house and the landscape around the house would be built on the top of the mug.

STEP 4 : Prepare for the house base

Take the corrugated sheet, mark and cut the circle to cover the top of the mug, the circle should be in the size of the periphery of the mug.

STEP 5 : Create base to make the landscape and the house

Take the tissue paper and the masking tape to make the land base for the house.

STEP 6 : Making the clay base

Cover the tissue and the masking tape with the rolled slab of Mouldit using Fabric Glue.

STEP 7 : Building the house and the landscape

Take a small piece of the corrugated sheet to make the small house; cover the corrugated base with the clay slab using Fabric Glue. Make small well, the rock garden, the planters and the plants, the steps around the house with the help of clay carving tools and Fabric Glue using Mouldit. Let it dry.

 

STEP 8 : Placement of the house

Place the house with the landscape on the top of the mug using Fabric Glue. Make sure that you stick the mug to the saucer base for firmness with little amount of clay and Fabric Glue. Let it dry.

Take some clay to make the steps coming down on the edge of the saucer with the tools and Fabric Glue. Let it dry. Refer to the image.

STEP 9 : Painting and final touches

Paint the house on the mug, the stairs/ steps and the landscape around using Fevicryl Acrylic Colours Black 02, Dark Brown 05, Dark Green 06, Golden Yellow 09, Light Green 12, White 27, Cerulean Blue 32, Deep Brilliant Purple 64, Coral Red 66 and Greenery 67. Let it dry
