Isn’t love cute and so is this handmade gift for Valentine! Make this adorable Valentine DIY cushion for your partner and see them rejoice with joy.
STEP 1 : Source the base
- We are going to make the heart shaped ladybug cushion using red and black fabric and cotton for Valentine’s Day.
- Take red fabric piece.
STEP 2 : Draw the shape
- Mark on 7” x 7” square, draw the simple shape of the heart on it.
STEP 3 : Make two
- Draw 2 such heart shapes to make the cushion.
STEP 4 : Attach the parts to make a heart
- Attach and stitch two hearts together by keeping one side on the top open to further insert the cotton.
- Flip the stitched area towards the inner side, your basic heart shape for the cushion is ready.
STEP 5 : The cushion
- Your heart cushion will look like this after stuffing the cotton inside the heart shape.
- Refer to the image.
STEP 6 : Make the head
- Similarly, we have to make the head of the ladybug using black fabric piece.
- Mark and cut the shape of the head of the ladybug.
- Stitch the shapes together by keeping one side on the top open to further insert the cotton.
- Flip the stitched area towards the inner side, your basic head shape is ready.
STEP 7 : Make the antennas
- Take two flower making wires.
- Twist two wires together to make the antennas of the ladybug.
- Paint the antennas with Acrylic Colour Black 02.
- Let it dry.
STEP 8 : Assembly
- Attach the parts together to make the heart shape ladybug with antennas using needle and the thread and little amount of Fabric Glue.
- Let it dry.
STEP 9 : Paint the polka dots and wings
- Paint the wings effect and the polka dots on the heart shape cushion using Acrylic Colours Black 02 and White 27.
- Let it dry completely.
