Good Vibes Cushion
You Will Need:
Fevicryl Fabric Glue, Fevicryl Fabric colours (Lemon yellow, Leaf green, Cerulean blue, Violet, Deep brilliant purple, Orange, White, Crimson, Persian blue), Paper, pencil, scale, brush, measuring tape, tracing paper, carbon paper, fabric chalk, casement fabric, yellow cotton fabric, off white thin cotton fabric ( similar shade to casement fabric colour ), buckram, white fabric or sky blue and light green fabric for base of sky and star), white colour different types of yarn ( cotton thick yarn , micron yarn , jute ), wool ( lemon yellow, golden yellow, shades of orange , shades of red , green , light green ), black and golden stones, gold foil.
Description :
A nice and long comfortable lumbar cushion which can be placed on ur bed or in your favorite reading spot. The cushion is made completely using Fevicryl Fabric Glue.
STEP 1 : Base Fabric
- Take 1 mt of casement fabric and ½ mt of yellow cotton fabric.
STEP 2 : Cutting the fabric
- Measure 24 x 24 inch and cut the fabric using fabric scissors
- Make sure to leave 0.75 inch on all sides for folding and finishing.
STEP 3 : Fabric for bow strip
- Measure 21” x 2.5 “and cut 4 strips of yellow fabric and thin white cotton fabric using fabric scissors.
- Make sure to leave ½” on all sides
STEP 4
Fold the ½ “of the strips as shown in the image
STEP 5 : Sticking of yellow and white strips
- Place the white strip on the yellow strip or vice versa and stick them together.
- Stick it using Fevicryl Fabric Glue.
- Let it all dry
STEP 6
- Fold the corners of the base fabric and give it a good finish at the edges as seen in the image.
STEP 7 : Sticking of sides
- Stick the sides of the base fabric except the side that will be stuck when folded into a cushion as seen in the image.
- Stick it using Fevicryl Fabric Glue.
- Let it all dry
STEP 8 : Inner lining
- Cut two pieces from the yellow fabric
- Big piece measuring 11.75 “x 4” and the small piece measuring 11.75 “x 2”.
- Leave 0.75 inch on all sides to fold and stick.
- Use fabric scissors to cut the pieces.
STEP 9
- Once the sides are stuck, the pieces must look like how it does in the image.
- Stick it using fevicryl Fabric glue.
- Let it all dry
STEP 10
- Place the bow strips on one side on the base fabric as shown in the image.
- Make sure to leave equal distance between the 4 strips.
- Stick it using fevicryl Fabric glue.
- Let it all dry
STEP 11
- Place the inner lining strips on the bow strips as shown in the image
- Big strip on the top and small strip on the bottom part of the base
- Stick it using fevicryl Fabric glue.
- Let it all dry
STEP 12
- Fold the base as seen in the image.
- Stick 3 sides using Fevicryl Fabric Glue.
- Let it all dry
- Do not stick the side which has the bow strips as it will be open and used to fill the cushion cover.
STEP 13
- Take different colours of woolen yarn (yellow, orange, red) and make pompoms out of them as seen in the image.
- Make sure to mix different colours to get good effect.
- Make enough pompoms to create at least 4-5 suns with 6 pompoms each.
STEP 14
- Creating base for clouds, stars and rainbow.
- Take small pieces of blue, yellow and green fabric as shown in the image.
- You can dye a plain white cotton fabric into these colours if you do not have ready fabric at home.
- Use Fevicryl Fabric Colours to dye them.
STEP 15 : Creating clouds
- Trace out a cloud shape of your choice or copy the design you see in the image.
- Use pencil and yellow carbon paper to transfer the design on to the fabric.
STEP 16
- Take two different shades of blue yarn( cotton yarn and micron yarn) as seen in the image.
- You can also dye the yarn with fabric colours .
- Stick the yarns as seen in the image to create the cloud.
- Make 5-6 pieces of this in various sizes.
- Stick it using Fevicryl Fabric Glue.
- Let it all dry
STEP 17
- Trace the shape of a star on the green fabric piece and stick green yarn on the design as seen in the image.
- Stick it using Fevicryl Fabric Glue.
- Let it all dry
- Make 5-6 of these in various sizes and cut them once they are dry.
STEP 18
- Take thick cotton cord and dye them in shades of colours from the rainbow.
- Dye them using Fevicryl fabric Colours
- Let it all dry
- Dye enough yarn to make 5-6 rainbows out of it.
STEP 19
- Stick the yarns on the yellow fabric piece as seen in the image above.
- Stick it using Fevicryl Fabric Glue.
- Let it all dry
- Make 5-6 of these in various sizes and cut them once they are dry.
- Cut out the rainbows and apply gold foil onto the edges as seen in the image.
- Stick it using Fevicryl Fabric Glue.
- Let it all dry
STEP 20
- Take buckram fabric and cut small circles to stick behind the pompoms as shown in the image.
- Stick it using Fevicryl Fabric Glue.
- Let it all dry
- Make 5-6 of these in various sizes and cut them once they are dry.
STEP 21
- Place all the elements on the cushion cover as per the image or as per your judgement of spacing.
- Stick it using Fevicryl Fabric Glue.
- Let it all dry
- Once the big elements have been stuck, fill the empty spaces with black and gold stones as seen in the image.
- Stick it using Fevicryl Fabric Glue.
- Let it all dry.
STEP 22
- Lastly finish the bow strip by cutting the edges slant as seen in the image.
- Stick it using Fevicryl Fabric Glue.
- Let it all dry
STEP 23
This warm and cosy rainbows and stars cushion cover is ready to be filled with a cushion and placed on your bed or on your fav chair to bring in some good vibes.
