Description :
These small denim mats are handcrafted using upcycled denim cut pieces arranged in a unique mosaic pattern. Each mat showcases the beauty of repurposed fabric, painted to add an artistic touch. A sustainable and stylish accent for your space.
STEP 1 : Procure the base
- Let’s revamp a denim cloth onto denim mats and create something useful out of it.
- Take a denim cloth that you don’t use anymore.
- Cut it into square shapes in size 9 X 9 inches using scissors.
STEP 2 : Cut the pieces
- Take another lighter shade of a denim cloth piece.
- Trace geometrical mosaic shapes on it with pencil.
- Trace the same shapes on the darker shade of the denim.
STEP 3 : Paint the design
- Take Fevicryl Pastel Acrylic Colours and paint the designs in any shades of your choice.
- Let the paint dry.
- If the denim soaks the colour in the first layer, you can coat the colour again for a darker impression.
- Let it dry.
STEP 4 : Cut the shapes
- Take scissors and cut the geometrical shapes of the denim precisely.
STEP 5 : Stick the shape
- Take Fevicryl Fabric Glue and stick the cutouts as per their shape on the dark denim cloth.
STEP 6 : Final Touchups
- Cut the borders of the denim if it’s torn unevenly and stitch a border from a different cloth at the edges using Fabric Glue.
- You can also get the borders stitched if you want.
