You Will Need:

Fevicryl Acrylic Colour Burnt Sienna 01, Indian Red 10, White 27, Fevicryl 3 D Outliner White 707, Fevicryl Water Based Glass Colours ( Brown), Fevicryl Fabric Glue, Fine Art Brushes, 10” X 10” MDF Square Placemat, A3 White Paper, White Carbon, Pencil, Assorted Mirrors, Colour Palette, Water Container

This chowki made with a simple traditional design of Kolam Rangoli along with the mirrors is making it look ever so attractive & inspiring. Learn this simple method and you can choose your own theme and concept and make it in your style.

STEP 1 : Source the base material

Take MDF Placemat measuring 8” x 8” in size.  

 

STEP 2 : Painting the base coat

Paint the MDF base using Fevicryl Acrylic Colour – White 27. Let it dry.

STEP 3 : Painting the second coat

Paint the MDF base using Fevicryl Acrylic Colour – White 27. Let it dry.

STEP 4 : Tracing the theme

Draw your theme on the A3 white paper and trace the design on painted base. We have chosen a kolam design for the same.

STEP 5 : Painting the theme with 3D

Paint the theme using Fevicryl 3D Outliner – White 707. Let it dry.

STEP 6 : Painting with Glass Colours

Take the painted base, using Glass Colour – brown; create the background and the space in between the design. Let it dry.  

STEP 7 : Enhancing the design

Decorate the Kolam design with simple assorted mirrors using Fabric Glue. Let it dry.

STEP 8 : Assembling the base to make chowki

Take the wooden beads, paint the beads with similar shade as of the kolam design base using Acrylic Colour Indian Red 10. Stick the painted beads to the base using Fevicryl Fabric Glue. Let it dry thoroughly.

STEP 9 : Final touches & look

Take the triangular mirrors and make the border using Fabric Glue.
