You Will Need:

Make this beautiful Sun catcher with old CD’s, Mouldit and Glass Colours for the occasion of Children’s day. Make some cute creative ideas and gift it to your loved ones.

STEP 1 : Source the base material

We are going to make the sun catcher with faces of the kids using old CD’s, Mouldit and Glass colours. Take 2 CD’s to make the sun catcher.

STEP 2 : Draw and paint the base

Paint the CD’s with the base coat of Fevicryl Acrylic Colour White 27. Let it dry. Draw the lines like rays to make the rainbow design on it.

STEP 3 : Paint the outlines

Paint the lines with Fevicryl 3D Outliner White 707. Let it dry.

STEP 4 : Pain the rainbow design

Paint the rainbow design with Fevicryl Water Based Glass Colours (Tomato Red, Golden Yellow, Crystal Green, Orange, Sea Blue and Ultramarine Blue). Let it dry.

STEP 5 : Prepare the dough

We are going to make the faces of the Kids with Mouldit. Take Fevicryl Mouldit – resin base & hardener, mix well to make even soft dough.  

STEP 6 : Clay slab technique

Take the dough, roll it to make the thick slab.

STEP 7 : Mark and cut round shapes

Mark and cut about 10 round shapes to make the faces of the kids from the slab.

STEP 8 : Build the faces & paint them

Take some clay to make the faces in details using clay carving tools. Let it dry. Paint the faces with Fevicryl Acrylic Colour Burnt Sienna 01, Black 02, Yellow Ochre 26, and Flesh Tint 30. Let it dry. Refer to the image.

STEP 9 : Assemble the faces on CD

Assemble and stick the faces on the periphery of the CD using Fabric Glue. Let it dry.

STEP 10 : Final touches

Take the blue woolen thread. Pass the woolen thread through the wooden beads to make the beaded strand. Stick the other CD on the rear side of the face CD with Fabric Glue. Let it dry.

STEP 11 : Final Look

Your sun catcher will look like this.
