These jars with the traditional chanapattanam touch with the heads as the knobs are surely quirky. This project will enhance the beauty of your décor. You can use them to keep the toffees or the knick- knack as well
We are going to replicate the traditional Chanapattanam jars using Fevicryl 500 ml bottles. Take the bottles and wash them thoroughly.
Mark and cut the walls of the lid with a paper cutter to build the design on the lid.
Take Fevicryl Mouldit – resin base & hardener, mix well to make an even soft dough.
Take some clay to make the round disk as the base for the joker faces, round ball for the faces and cone shape glue bottle cap for making the caps of the jokerss using the clay carving tools. Refer to the image.
Attach the heads to the lid with Fabric Glue. Let it dry. Paint the lid of the jars with the heads by replicating the colour combination as of the Chanapattanam toys using Fevicryl Acrylic Colours Burnt Sienna 01, Black 02, Crimson 04, Golden Yellow 09, Light Green 12. Let it dry.
Paint the bottle jar with Fevicryl Acrylic Colours Crimson 04, Golden Yellow 09, Light Green 12. Paint the coat of Fevicryl Water Based Glass Colours white on the top to give the exact look and the shine on the Chanapattanam jar. Let it dry. Refer to the image.
