You Will Need:

Fevicryl Acrylic Colours - Crimson 04, Light Green 12, Ultramarine Blue 23, White 27, Fevicryl Acrylic Colour Pearl Metallic - Gold 352, Fevicryl - Water Based - Glass Colours - Tomato Red, Crystal Green, Ultramarine Blue, Golden Yellow, Fevicryl Mouldit, Fevicryl Fabric Glue, Fine Art Brushes, RIAL: MDF Round Placemat 10” Diameter, 6” Diameter Mirror, Clay Carving Tools, Paper Cutter, Pencil, Ornamental Stones with Bracket, Colour Palette, Water Container

Description :

An attractive handmade platter for the occasion of Rakshabandhan. Made with pretty clay florals using Fevicryl Mouldit & then painted with glistening Glass Colours makes it so very festive.

STEP 1 : Source the base

Take a 10” round MDF placemat. 

STEP 2 : Paint the base coat

For a good finish, paint the MDF with Fevicryl Acrylic Colour – White 27. Let it dry.

STEP 3 : Paint with gold

Paint the MDF base using Fevicryl Acrylic Colour - Pearl Metallic - Gold 352, let it dry.

STEP 4 : Drawing a floral pattern

Using a pencil draw a floral pattern on the border of the MDF base.

STEP 5 : Prepare the dough

Take Fevicryl Mouldit – resin base & hardener, mix well to form an even soft dough. This would be used to make clay flowers and leaves.

STEP 6 : Clay flowers & leaves

Take the clay and make flowers and leaves, giving textures appropriately using clay tools and a paper cutter for ease. Make a floral pattern with clay pieces following the pattern.

STEP 7 : Painting the clay flowers & leaves

Take the individual clay forms and paint using Fevicryl Acrylic Colours - Crimson 04, Light Green 12, Ultramarine Blue 23, White 27, let them dry.

STEP 8 : Painting with Glass Colours

Now paint them with Fevicryl - Water Based - Glass Colours - Tomato Red, Crystal Green, Ultramarine Blue and Golden Yellow. Let them dry. This would give a rich and glistening look to the flowers & leaves.

STEP 9 : Arranging & sticking the florals

Arrange & stick the flowers & leaves using Fevicryl Fabric Glue. Let it dry.

Stick a 6” mirror in the centre and enhance its borders with ornametal stones making it festive and royal.

STEP 10 : Final look

The rakhi platter will look like this once completed, pleasing to the eye and oh so festive!
