Fevicryl Liquid Embroidery Pearl White 301, Fevicryl Liquid Embroidery Pearl Metallic Gold 352, Fevicryl Fabric Glue, Half a Meter Colourful Fabric Pieces, Tailoring Chalk, Golden Laces, Sequins (Red, Golden Coloured), Colourful Thread Cods, Decorative Zardosi Patches, Scissors, Needle and Thread, Ruler.

It is already festival time! It is time to clean and decorate our house and buy finery. Coming up is Janamasthmi, God’s Krishna’s birthday. Krishna is known to be God of all Rasas. Let us celebrate this in style but making customized garments for his idol. They are so much fun to make! STEP 1

Getting started with Making Clothes for God’s Idol • Take colourful fabric pieces to make the small clothes for Krishna Idol for Janmashtami • Take one fabric; mark and cut the rectangular piece measuring 15” x3” in size ( we have taken this measurements as per the size of our idol). • Take the golden lace of your choice as per the colour combination; border the cut fabric piece from one side using Fabric Glue. Leave it to dry completely • Refer to the image.

STEP 2

Making Folds Pleat the fabric piece evenly. Stich the fabric on the side which has no lace in running stitch using needle and the thread. • The fabric piece will look like this at this stage. Refer to the image.

STEP 3

Finishing up – Making bodice Attach and stitch golden lace for the shoulder line to make the bodice of the dress using Fabric Glue. Stitch the lace at both the ends for more reinforcement. • Decorate on the pleats with Liquid Embroidery Pearl Metallic Gold 352. • Leave it to dry completely.

STEP 4

Making some more dresses for god idols Similarly you can stitch more clothes in a similar way. • Decorate each one using Liquid Embroidery Pearl White 301, colourful fabric pieces, laces, cords, zardosi patches and the sequins using Fabric Glue. • Refer to the image.
