Create a captivating Romanesque-inspired canvas featuring an arched window adorned with geometric designs. This project combines painting and sculpting techniques to evoke the elegance of Hellenistic revival art, with a nod to the renowned artist S H Raza.
STEP 1 : Procure the base and draw the design
- Start with a 12” x 16” canvas board.
- Sketch the Romanesque arched window with geometric patterns inspired by S H Raza's style.
STEP 2 : Paint the design
- Use Fevicryl Acrylic Colours to paint the window and geometric designs. Let it dry.
STEP 3 : Prepare the dough
- Mix Mouldit resin base and hardener to create dough.
- Roll out the dough to form a slab and cut out the arched window shape.
- Use additional clay to add details to the window and attach a thin metal mesh from the rear side. Let it dry.
STEP 4 : Paint the Window
- Apply a watery wash of acrylic Colour Black 02 to the window. Let it dry.
STEP 5 : Finishing touches
- Affix the arched window onto the canvas using clay and Fabric Glue. Let it dry.
STEP 6 : Final look
- Admire your finished canvas featuring a striking Romanesque arch window, ready to add a touch of timeless elegance to any space.
