Description :

Create a diya inspired by the traditional Maharashtrian nose ring, “Nath,” using terracotta and Mouldit to add an elegant, festive touch.

STEP 1 : Procure the Base
  • Take a prewashed Terracotta Diya

STEP 2 : Prepare and build the design
  • Cut a mount board into the same shape as the diya and stick it neatly around the diya using Fabric Glue. Let it dry.

  • Mix Mouldit resin base and hardener into an even dough.

  • Roll the dough into thin coils and small beads. Stick the coils and beads around the diya using Fabric Glue. Let everything dry.

STEP 3 : Create the Nose Ring Attachment
  • Bend a metal wire to mimic the attachment of a traditional “Nath.”

  • Use a small amount of clay and Fabric Glue to secure the wire onto the diya.

  • Paint the diya with a base coat of White Acrylic Colour 27 and let it dry.

STEP 4 : Paint the final coat
  • Add the finishing touches by painting with Light Green 12, Deep Brilliant Purple 64, Pearl White 301, Pearl Metallic Gold 352, and Glass Colours from the kit.

  • Let it dry completely.

STEP 5 : Final look
  • Your nose ring-inspired diya is now ready to display for Diwali!
